Community Highlights: Meet Ewa Marais of Baltic Sands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ewa Marais. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Ewa Marais internationally recognized property developer started building off-grid, environmentally sensitive homes in Joshua Tree area a few years ago. She was born in Poland but spent most of her adult life in South Africa. After moving to the US, she started Baltic Sands Inc. in high desert area. Her new project Panorama Valley is comprised of six luxury residences with outdoor cinema, pool, four king-size bedrooms, four bathrooms and star gazing roof entertainment area. Each of the homes are situated on a 6-acre lot with magnificent views of Joshua Tree National Park.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Baltic Sands Inc. was one of the first luxury market developers in the area and the challenge was to convince potential buyers that living off the grid and environmentally aware was just as easy and comfortable as city living. We have great internet connectivity and sufficient services in the area. After Covid, things changed. Everyone wanted to get out of big centers and our homes sold pre-construction.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Off-grid luxury property development. We are the leaders in environmentally sensitive residential and investment property.

What makes you happy?
Long walks every morning make me very happy, traveling with my husband Jacques and discovering new places. Cuddles with my tiny dog Penny are delightful. Life is beautiful and little moments like this make it extra special.
