Community Highlights: Meet Bobbie Cerda of Level Up Organics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobbie Cerda.

Hi Bobbie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been an entrepreneur most of my life. I made my first dollar selling a bag of lemons off a family tree when I was only ten years old! I went on to become the proud owner of “Curves of Boyle Heights” an International Fitness Franchise at the age of 25, and soon after became a Certified Personal Trainer & Yoga Certified Instructor with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I spent over ten years focused on helping women of all ages reach their health and fitness goals and it was some of the most rewarding years of my life.

In 2014, I took a break from business to have my first child, then came baby #2, then baby #3 shortly after! It was during that time off that I discovered CBD. I quickly realized that CBD could offer women the support they needed to stay on track during their wellness and weight loss journeys. I decided to create an entire line focused on the areas I knew women needed the most support:
Daily stress
Restful sleep
Daily aches & pains
Healthy digestion
Healthy metabolism

I knew that if I created products that were easy and safe to use, many women would be able to accomplish more every day, whether they were trying to lose weight or simply trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road up to this point has not been easy. I’ve had to work past three major challenges.

1.) Juggling motherhood and business has not been easy. I’m constantly trying to find new ways to create a schedule that allows me to dedicate time to my business as well as spend quality time with my children who are at home with me 24/7. This continues to be a work in progress, haha!

2.) I launched Level Up Organics in 2019, the year before the pandemic hit so when I was just starting to build up my customer base, the whole world shut down. Thankfully I was able to keep my business open by keeping my expenses low until business started picking up again the following year. We have continued to grow ever since then.

3.) The biggest challenge is being in an industry that is extremely unsupported in general. Despite the fact that our entire product lineup is made with 100% legal ingredients, there is still red tape surrounding this industry. We rely heavily on organic traffic and word-of-mouth referrals to get our brand name out there since most mainstream and social media advertising is off-limits to us. We also go the extra mile by adding a 30 day money-back guarantee, Lab reports on every product and now we’ve upgraded our oils to “USDA Certified Organic” to continue to build customer trust and brand loyalty.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Level Up Organics?
Level Up Organics is such an exciting part of my entrepreneurial journey. I’ve dedicated over ten years to working with women in the fitness and weight loss industry. I’ve gone from gym owner, fitness center manager, certified personal trainer, and certified yoga instructor to now becoming the founder of a women’s wellness brand, I can honestly say that the best part for me has been working with so many amazing women. Throughout the years I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with and helping hundreds of women lose weight and transform their lives for the better. It’s exciting to watch my wellness brand continue to grow. The next chapter, coming this summer, will include a VIP Coaching program for women who need more one on one support to lose the weight and keep it off for life. I feel like this is just the beginning and I can’t wait to see where this next chapter will take me!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
When I first became an entrepreneur I left a corporate office job where I was making good steady money. Before I left I saved enough money to pay my bills for six months in case my new business took a while to start generating income and that really helped take the pressure off. Becoming an entrepreneur comes with huge risks.

There’s no guaranteed pay, there’s nobody to plan or guide your journey. There’s no set schedule. It’s completely up to you to create your own road map. It’s up to you to push yourself to reach each milestone you set while patiently navigating through trial and error.

At the beginning, there’s more money going out and little to no money coming in so it’s important to choose a business that you’re totally passionate about. That passion will drive you to push forward, even when you feel like giving up, it’s what makes the risk totally worth taking.
