Check out Tricia Taper’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tricia Taper.

Tricia, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was born and raised in South Carolina, surrounded by my family and horses. I fell in love with horses the moment I set eyes on them and began riding as soon as I could.

I then grew passionate about performing arts and was involved in every theatre and dance project I could be a part of. The stage seemed to be my second home- a feeling so big whenever I was around it. I then moved to Los Angeles where I completed my degree at the University of Southern California’s amazing Theatre and Film School where I really became in love with being behind the camera. Anything that involves being creative I want to be a part of. Dancing, photography, painting- It’s a way for me to really let go and express myself.

Currently, I live in the Pacific Palisades with my loving husband and our adorable little daughter, Juliet. After giving birth to Juliet 4 1/2 years ago, I have had this overwhelming calling to be the best version of myself. She inspires me to push myself and create things I never imagined I could. Being a Mom constantly pushes myself to look inward and is the most rewarding, hardest and most beautiful thing I have ever done. I am supported by my family and friends along with Kundalini yoga, which is a practice that has changed my life.

I am also so passionate about our community and several different charities in which I donate my work to help raise funds and awareness to help women and children in need. I also love volunteering at our local Theatre where I am able to give back and choreograph pieces for the Children’s shows at the Pierson Theatre.

The next project in the works involve underwater images for pregnant mamas in a very unique way…

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My most recent project combines my deep-rooted love for horses and photography, truly capturing the spirit of the moment. My inspiration from my fine art pieces, including the best seller-the plush horse blanket, all come from the beautiful horses at Westside Riding School where I ride, Located at the famous Will Rogers Historic State Park.

I spend hours just being with the horses and capturing their spirit on film- how I see them. I then make beautiful large canvases, plush blankets or bookcase pieces from the images in hopes that people get inspired by these beautiful animals as much as I am and are able to take a little piece of them into their home.

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
Keep going, keep creating, no matter what the outcome is. Meditate and really listen to your heart and just let it out! When life gets hard, get to your art and create! Don’t stop and lean on your community-give back and build! Trust your intuition and when things get scary don’t run, lean inward and rise up and ride the wave!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
