Check Out Zoë Martinez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoë Martinez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve had a love for makeup ever since I was little. My mom worked at M.A.C. for years and I remember going into her bathroom and watching her pull out cases and cases of makeup.

I would watch her do her makeup and was instantly mesmerized. I remember she once brought me to M.A.C. for bringing your kid to work day and I thought it was the most amazing and glamorous job in the world.

Now that I am a makeup artist, I still feel the same way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has definitely not been easy, but I still work through it because I know one day, I will be where I want to be. For me, personally, the biggest issue I’ve had is getting started.

I want consistent opportunities that align with the type of makeup artist I want to be. For now, I do makeup part-time until I can get my career going.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Makeup Artist and I specialize in editorial and celebrity makeup.

I am known for my use of color and excellent eyeshadow blending. I am most proud of the makeup that I did on Netflix Actress Nikki Rodriguez because it was a style I have been wanting to try for so long.

I am set apart from other artists because no one has my personality, my skill set, my style, or my perspective. We all are beautiful and unique. We have our own special touch that we add to this industry.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I am always looking to meet more creatives!

Depending on the project I am open to trading for prints. I want to build a bigger community where we can collaborate and make some really amazing art. If you want to connect, check out my website or business Instagram.
