Check Out Trey Branch’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Branch.

Hi Trey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started when I picked up a camera in early 2019, my last semester of undergrad. I grew up in the DMV area (Maryland & Washington DC) I had ambition of becoming a videographer as soon as I bought my first camera. The ability to capture and create stories in my own creative way has been the most thrilling passion I have ever pursued. I started off freelancing from 2019 where I was able to network with a lot of small business, influencers, and athletes across the east coast. After I built up my representation in my hometown, I decided to fully pursue my business and start “TREYK Media” as my startup production company. To advance my abilities in film, I am currently I am attending New York Film Academy’s MA program here in Burbank. It has been amazing experience so far bringing my east coast flavor to LA.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a creative, you always face challenges whether it’s finding work or opportunities. However, I never wanted to receive opportunities by hand out or “begging”. I present the opportunities myself by searching for small businesses, entrepreneurs, starts-ups, and aspiring artists. I always believed that reaching out to smaller businesses gives them the resources so they can expand their network and help them be more successful. Moving out to LA definitely was a challenge because I don’t have the network like I did back in the DMV area. That still hasn’t stopped me from always trying to take any opportunity I get while balancing being a student.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in videography and use photography to add a little more flavor to my content. When I make content, I love to put my audience in the moment so they can truly understand how I see the world. When it comes to collabing with other creators and artists, I try to be as authentic as possible. I want my viewers and the world to know who you really are as an individual and fall in love with how unique models, actors, entrepreneurs, and any creatives can be. My bigger goals are to continue creating content based around spreading awareness about mental health in communities. Mental health is one of the silent killers of America and the more we can do to create content the combines art and representation will impact our generation for the better.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I know my industry will continue to keep growing because everyone needs creative mindsets around to help build content.
