Check Out Shanita “Amazing” Williams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanita “Amazing” Williams.

Hi Shanita “Amazing”, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
AJABU KABISA SKIN (AKS) means Amazing Absolutely in Swahili. I started formulating my own body butter recipe in 2017. At first, it was just small concoctions I made and tried on myself, my son and a few brave friends. It was a hit with my son who despised using store-bought lotions and he not only used it on his skin to sooth irritation and dark spots from shaving but also to finesse his waves, giving him silky shine and definition without the greasy build-up. This was the beginning of all things Amazing for skin everywhere!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The only struggle was finding the right formula to keep my aloe vera and oils from separating. I was green (literally) and knew nothing about the formulation of plant-based products. Ultimately, I achieved this process without the use of emulsion, which was unheard of. I can truly say the process was exciting although frustrating! After researching and experimenting with various butters, essential oils and fresh aloe vera for almost a year, Ajabu Kabisa Skin was whipped into existence.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have always been a creative. From graphic design to crafting handmade items to poetry to creative writing. Because of my gift for design and passion for natural products, I incorporated the two and decorated each jar with one of a kind designs to compliment my amazing body butter. Some of my creations can be seen on my jars from 2018.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
My focus has shifted to include educating adolescents through aging adults on the importance of using clean, natural products to preserve healthy, younger looking skin for years to come. What you put on the outside, over time can affect the inside. I need people to know beautiful skin can be achieved with plant-based products! I want to tackle every aspect of achieving amazing skin, naturally! I strive to make AJABU KABISA SKIN a household name with our products on the shelves of major distributors worldwide.
