Today we’d like to introduce you to Renato Sebastiani.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I moved to LA from Italy to pursue a songwriting career and along the way, I learned to produce as well. What I achieved I did simply by determination and insistence.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not at all. Since I arrived, I realized how much behind I was on the game. I had to bring myself up to speed and that took a lot of work and soar moments.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a songwriter, music producer and composer. I am writing and producing pop as well as alt-pop, indie, and hip hop. I also compose instrumentals for TV and occasionally I do sound design for films. I guess that what makes me really proud is a well-written song. When I re-listen to a song I wrote or co-wrote and surprise myself with how cool the melody is or how witty the lyrics are, that is when I feel the most proud.
I guess that what sets me apart is my own style. The music I write has always something that carries my brand in a way. Also, my “advantage” is that I don’t mind embracing new things, starting over, re-learning, it actually keeps me excited and I want to think that it also keeps me in sync with what’s around.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Artistically? I am always extra happy when I manage to pull off a new song that I dig out even from something that initially did not inspire me. Finding a way through, using my creativity to overcome the “lack of inspiration” is always empowering.
