Today we’d like to introduce you to Queen Neisha.
Hi Queen Neisha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
About 5 years ago I got to a point in my life where I just wanted to find what I loved and something to do outside of just work and go home everyday. Since high school I’ve always been told I take good pictures. I created many photo albums over the years of family and friends. People would always ask me to take their pictures with their phones and I’ve always been into editing apps. I would edit other people’s photos just for fun and photos of myself of course lol. One day I decided to just go pick up a camera at Target and I said to myself that I would start taking photos of my family & friends at their events to see how everything works itself out. When I first started I did not charge. As I gained experience it made sense to start implementing fees for my services. I began to run my business on a professional level to ensure clients received not only great pics but exceptional customer service.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road. I had to learn not to expect certain people to support me just because they knew me. I had to earn my spot and work my way up into this business world just as you would in a corporate world. I had to show people that I was serious about my business and really promote myself. My biggest struggle has been social media. Consistently posting content is like another job honestly lol but it is what is needed to promote yourself these days. Constantly showing your progression and your work to people you may or may not know is how you grow your business. I am learning to be more social & how to network with others because I am very much an introvert.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a photographer and videographer in Las Vegas Nevada. I genuinely love what I do and appreciate my craft. I push myself every day to learn something new about my art and I’m very hard on myself. That’s not always a good thing but I just want to put out great work and inspire others to find their passion and what they love.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Within the next 2 to 5 years I see myself having my own private photo studio. I will expand Queen Photography LV which will include a hiring team & a community center where I can teach classes and mentor photography students.
