Check Out Megan Stys’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Stys.

Hi Megan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am originally from Michigan but have been living in Los Angeles for almost seven years now. I started performing at a young age, I spent most of my free time in dance studios or in after school theatre programs. One of my first performing jobs was with Radio Disney. After high school, I packed up my things and moved to Los Angeles. Now I actively work as a singer, actor and dancer. I love singing live in front of an audience with a band or bringing a story to life through live theatre. Not only do I perform live but I also enjoy working On-Screen as well.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My biggest struggle would be that in the performance world, you are never guaranteed your next job. As an actor, I am always working towards my next show or gig.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a singer, actor, and a dancer. I specialize in live performing. I enjoy working in Musical Theatre, singing jazz and rock at bars and venues with a band and singing at kid’s events. I have performed in shows all over southern California as well as performed with kids company’s such as Radio Disney, Jam With Jamie, and Startrax Entertainment. The job I was most proud of was one of my first Ads I did with Chevrolet. Seeing myself in a magazine felt really awesome. What sets me apart from others is my drive and work ethic. I never stop working.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I learned never take anything for granted. My industry was completely at a halt due to Covid-19 and it was devastating not being able to perform. I am grateful for the theatres and venues that are opening back up and allowing me to perform again.
