Check Out Laura Haug’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Haug.

Hi Laura, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I worked in Entertainment for 12+ years as a Project Manager in Post Production and could see how much people ebbed and flowed between finding the balance of work/home life. I watched burnout, frustration, and anger play out in this industry from people’s unmet needs and the ego driving the show. Once I started being an Intuitive Guide, I’ve also seen this dynamic play out with people in all industries as I have taught yoga, life coached, read tarot cards, and channeled reiki energy healing on clients for the past seven years.

Being born and raised in a small Missouri town with four siblings while being highly sensitive to people’s emotions around me, I found myself in observation mode for most of my life. This observation skill set has taught me to listen deeply to others and see how they view the world. I can also sense and feel their pain points and what they truly desire or where they are looking for support to be seen and heard for who they authentically are.

My path has felt like one of a labyrinth. Walking the journey towards the center of what I desire has its own meditative movement feeling like I am getting closer and then farther away until I have arrived. Once I have arrived at a specific goal, I receive the lesson and walk away, integrating the experience until I’m ready to walk towards another goal.

My story is one of learning the tools and techniques to support myself on my path when I run into health challenges, boundary issues, lack of fulfillment, and losing hope. My journey is a supportive piece to help others as they navigate their emotional landscape when they can no longer brush their issues under the rug. I show them a different way of tuning into their intuition and leading them back to themselves when they have lost their way. I help clients remember how magical and resilient they are. As painful at times as transformation can be with grieving many people and pieces of ourselves as we grow, the level of joy and pleasure they can experience is just as great if not better than they ever thought possible.

My story is one of staying true to my heart as it leads me through this chaotic, crazy, and beautiful world we live in and guiding others on how to listen to theirs as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My obstacles and challenges in life have been my most impactful teachers for personal growth and fulfillment. Every challenge I have faced has shown me new levels of strength and resilience if I am willing to keep my fears from over-functioning.

The struggles I have had to face have been primarily health issues as I’ve been faced with adrenal fatigue, chronic digestive problems, depression, anxiety, low thyroid, and brain fog, to name a few. I was born with a heart defect as well that led to heart surgery at eight months old. Physically not feeling well throughout my life or having the energy one would hope to have, took its toll on my mental health over the years. When you know, something is off with your body but are constantly told by doctors that everything looks okay and then writes you off, leads to its own special kind of emotional struggle of not being validated.

Learning how to listen to my body, mind, and heart is where I have found profound healing. From this place of deep healing, I have found my relationship with my intuition, confidence, resilience, and creativity has grown leaps and bounds. My challenges have led me to find my path to helping others along their journey of trusting themselves, tapping into their own inner healer, and is making sure they don’t have to walk the journey alone.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an Intuitive Guide using Life Coaching, Reiki, Tarot & Yoga. I support individuals who feel unfulfilled, resentful, burnt out, stuck, ready for a change in life, and need someone’s support in getting them from point A to point B. I help people understand their energy field, emotions, and values and guide them in aligning their actions with these understandings and goals to best support themselves.

I feel that intuition is our greatest gift. We all have access to this inner knowing or guidance system, but we’ve forgotten how to access or trust it due to a society that begs us to defer our personal knowing over to others.

The more we can trust our gut instincts; we will find more fulfillment, success, and pleasure in life. We can accomplish this by setting healthy boundaries, regulating our nervous systems, and finding our voice to set ourselves up for further success in life & relationships.

My role is to help my clients integrate the pieces of themselves they’ve lost along the way to feel whole once again from a place of strength and sensitivity.

How do you define success?
My definition of success has radically changed over the years. It used to be typical to get a good job, get married, have a family, have a big house, and a nice car. There is nothing wrong with those things, but I realized I had a good job, and in a relationship talking marriage wasn’t fulfilling me the way I was hoping it would or wanted to experience.

I have learned and gone through many transformations of realizing that just because something looks good on paper doesn’t mean that my soul will be satisfied. I can have a good job and still feel like my talents aren’t appreciated. I can be in a relationship and still feel not seen or heard and feel alone.

My definition of success is now how often I can get out into nature. Have I cuddled my cats enough today? How many experiences am I having that make me feel alive? Who am I able to serve on the soul level of helping them remember their true nature and desires? Am I feeling strong, energized, and healthy in my body? Do I have money in the bank? A roof over my head? Food on the table? Friends to laugh and cry with?

My definition of life has simplified yet has become so much more rich and fulfilling. It keeps getting better the more I listen to my mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs and take action to continue to fill myself up and be of service to others.
