Today we’d like to introduce you to Joy R. Richardson.
Joy R., we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am an internationally published model who is now diving into the sector of filmmaking and acting. I will continue to model throughout my creative journey but can’t wait to change the world through my films. I plan to attack the ideas of close-mindedness in our society and display the world from the viewpoints of all the beautiful humans that make up this said world. I am currently studying at the New York film academy of Los Angeles and working on my first Novel with aspirations to get this novel made into a film. Readers should expect to be taken on a psychological rollercoaster of conceptual ideas.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing worth doing is ever easy. There’s so many times subconsciously your mind will be filled with the doubts of this world but it’s up to you to motivate yourself to keep going. Mind over matter.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have enjoyed my success in modeling and am looking forward to showcasing my creative mind through my filmmaking. I think what sets me apart from others is my wanting to display the world from many perspectives and let all voices be heard.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I owe credit to many of my creative like-minded friends that I choose to surround myself with here in Los Angeles. It is important to surround yourself with people that aren’t going to be “yes” men but those who will push you to be the greatest you can be in every way possible. I am thankful that I have found that. The brilliant minds of my friends make the idea of collaboration a lot easier.
