Check Out Christina Djeredjian’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Djeredjian.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My business started in the beginning of the pandemic – I was a paralegal for four and a half years and when the pandemic hit in March 2020 just like many others, my hours were cut. I went from working full-time to working part-time and working from home. Prior to all of this, I had been wanted to get my Wedding and Event Planning Certification but never had the time due to my busy schedule. Thanks to the pandemic, I finally had the time and was able to further my education in Event & Wedding Planning. During the certification program, I spent time outside of my classes researching, learning, watching videos, reading books, and enrolling in workshops to help me learn as much as I could. While enrolled in the certification program, I began ordering my inventory, props, materials, supplies, and my fiancé (at the time, now husband) and my father in law built my luxury picnic tables which helped me get the business started right away. In my first month of business, I even booked a wedding which was so exciting!

After months of courses, research and branding, Event Blvd. was born! I started Event Blvd. as a way to channel my creative energy and vision and share my love for event planning with my prospective clients. I am beyond blessed to have an amazing support system around me which helped push me to get my business started. In just under two years, I have grown in more ways than I could have even dreamt of and only plan to grow and take it further!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business is filled with ups and downs, just like many other new businesses – a common struggle I faced when building my business was having to do everything (admin work, marketing, client calls, design meetings, appointments, planning, setups, errands, etc.) by myself. I had no employees, no interns, no staff. Luckily, I have my amazing support system and everyone around me has gone above and beyond to help me on event days and days leading up to events. Without my amazing family, friends and previous clients, I would not be where I am today – thanks to them Event Blvd. picked up quicker than I could have ever imagined. As previously mentioned, in my first month I even booked a wedding which seemed far-fetched and impossible. This gave me a boost of confidence and allowed me to begin turning my dreams into a reality!

Tell us about your business. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
Event Blvd. is a full-service event planning company that specializes in multicultural weddings, high-end events, proposals, home events, corporate events, private events, luxury picnics and more. Our passion for events, creative spirit, and undivided attention for our clients sets Event Blvd. apart. We bring a fresh perspective to event design and work with your budget and ideas to create an extraordinary event. Event Blvd. offers full-service planning, partial planning, and month of coordination in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. We like making planning events fun, innovative and effortless for you!

What sets our company apart from others is our customer service, which I believe is one of the most important factors for running any successful business. Once I receive an inquiry, I like to contact the client myself – to introduce myself, explain the next steps, discuss their plans and provide them with packages and pricing. I also provide them with a phone number that they can call to text or call when they have any questions about their upcoming event. I know it sounds pretty standard to provide the client with this type of service but you would be surprised on how many event planning companies don’t provide their clients with a phone number. Most other companies use email as their only form of communication with their clients. My potential clients appreciate the fact that as the owner, I spend time chatting with them and giving them a run down of what they should expect with the planning process. I feel that the service I provide all potential clients and clients with has helped me succeed in a short period of time. I always like to treat my customers with the service I myself would like to receive. It’s the small details that will keep clients happy and satisfied with your company.
