Check Out D_Rex Evans’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to D_Rex Evans.

Hi D_Rex, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in the city of New Orleans music is just part of our Culture. I grew up in the era when No Limit and Cash Money had the music industry going CRAZY. Just being from the same place as them seeing the effect their music had on not just our city but the whole world made me wanna become an Artist. I started freestyling for fun at school when a bunch of my classmates told me I should pursue rap and take it more seriously. Since that day, I haven’t looked back just been working on mastering the craft.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
One thing I can say this career choice is not for the weak. There’s a bunch of minor and major obstacles on this road you just gotta be more in love with your dream than anything. You gone have people telling you your no good. There’s gone be people who ignore you. You might end up like me with three completely full albums finished and ready for the world just to have your hard drive crash and you lose everything. Moral of the story is just don’t give up.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a music Artist/Entertainer. I specialize in vocal sounds using my voice as an instrument. I believe we all have a voice with in that speaks volumes; we just have to find a way to get it out to the right people. While I’m mostly known for music, you can also catch me in a movie with Trey songs and China McClain called “Blood Brothers” where I play a character named Winston. You can watch free on the Tubi movie app. What separates me from others is the fact that I’m going to let the world answer that question.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
In order to advance, you gotta take risk. No matter what you are doing, you gotta be willing to risk everything to be divine with your purpose. I wouldn’t be able to count on my fingers the risk I take to pursue this dream. I remember being in HighSchool sneaking off campus just to record projects in the end, you just have to understand that no shot has ever been made without a shot attempt. Just remember regret hit harder than failure. So even if the worst happened and you miss the shot you’ll know how to shoot it next time. Don’t shy away from risk it can be the difference maker in your career.
