Check Out Chris Wallace’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Wallace.

Chris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a standup comedian and content creator that just celebrated one year of sobriety on 12/21/2021. During my first year of sobriety, I decided to start my Connecticut Style Pizza Pop Up, “Ozzy’s Apizza”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
NO!!! But that is what makes you stronger throughout any journey in life. In stand-up, I’ve performed for hundreds of people and I have performed for three people at a bar show facing the wrong direction. It’s extremely cliche to say this but I truly believe what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
You probably have seen my Tik Tok videos this past year with my dog, Ozzy, called “Doing Annoying Things To Your Dog That They Do To You”. To my shock and surprise, the videos went viral and we have accumulated over 30 million views across all platforms. My first love will always be standup comedy, which I am back to performing weekly throughout Los Angeles. Proud to say I am now passed as a regular at two local clubs and I restarted my monthly Long Beach show, Comedy On The Shore, the last Thursday of every month at Murphy’s Pub on Belmont Shore sponsored by the greatest kombucha company in the world, Jiant!

I am most proud of my sobriety. Working in the entertainment and hospitality industries did not make this sober journey any easier but actually helped me discover who I truly am: a pull no punches badass! Yup, I said that and I’m proud of it because just a little over a year ago, I couldn’t look myself in the mirror because I was so disgusted with myself. Now, every morning, I smile in the mirror and say to myself “I am so proud of you, Chris”.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Stand Up:

Go to every open mic you can, make the time for them, and just perform, perform, perform! Only way to do anything and get good at it is to actually go do it over and over again.

Pizza Making:

Just start making pizzas at home every day. Create a dough recipe, play around with your sauce, and you don’t even need a fancy oven. Here’s my home secret: buy a thick baking steel for like $100, preheat that thing on high for over an hour, and you’ve now turned your home oven into a pizza oven.

Making Content:

Make content that makes you smile. Don’t try and pander to audiences for views. It won’t work.
