Check Out Brittani Zonker’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittani Zonker.

Hi Brittani, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m the founder of Bronzed By Britt!

I thoughtfully created my custom organic spray tanning business for everyBODY! It is so important to tan safely and create a healthy natural-looking glow.

Years of sun damage myself lead me to create a better tanning option for every skin tone. I create beautiful even outcomes that look like a real sun tan in only 20 minutes!!!

My approach to organic sunless tanning is unlike any other. I take each client through a spray consultation where I uncover the type of desired outcome, discuss custom mixtures based on skin undertones, ethnicities, hair/eye color as well as my suggestion.

After all, most clients are tanning for very important appearances, life events, productions, editorial spreads & weddings!

After 11 years in the Sunless space, I have a talented eye at creating the most beautiful tans for the outcome each client desires.

It brings me joy to create a positive experience, a beautiful outcome and make each client feel heard/comfortable.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Growing pains are an essential part of building a successful business. When things don’t run smoothly, you’re forced to look at problems and find solutions.

If you take your ego out of this, you’ll build a better business. Accept and know things will happen. I have found taking extreme ownership for whatever arises in your business is the first essential step to improving.

Any service-based business will run into challenges. Whether a client would like to adjust something, has constructive feedback, something isn’t working smoothly (equipment- booking system- checkout- follow up, etc.) it’s your responsibility as a business owner to fix the problems.

My suggestions if you’re running a service-based business are:
* Have your policies detailed clearly on your website and when clients book
* Have them sign consent for the service
* Create your appointment expectations
* Spell out your cancellation policy
* Have a booking system
* Follow up or be open to feedback
* Listen & hear what clients want
* Have clear business boundaries (clients who are friends or become friendly)

Then make adjustments necessary to run your business. Your clients are why you have a business- so listen to the feedback!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am known and trusted by the top names in Hollywood as one of the best Celebrity Spray Tan Artists.

I have earned the trust of major A list stars, huge motion picture & TV productions, musicians, artists, actors, attorneys, journalists, housewives, influencers, reality tv stars and many more!

I specialize in a custom organic sunless spray tan experience unlike any other. I take extreme pride in my spray consultations, detailed service, privacy, outcomes and experience of each client.

I am most proud of how I run my business from an ethical standpoint to the service I provide… I respect each client, I listen really well and deliver incredible results. What sets me apart is how I genuinely care, listen, provide incredible customer service, attention to detail, accommodate client’s needs and care about each of them as people.

My business is more than just a tanning service. It’s a caring love for people and enjoyment of making each person feel seen/heard & while enhancing their natural beauty!

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Covid-19 crisis brought many challenges for a service based business.

It’s important to be able to pivot and create expansion within your business outside of just providing a service. Unfortunately when things shut down, so did business.

I would encourage small business owners to:

1: Always expand your education.

2: Find additional ways to create income within your business (i.e.: products, online sales, promotions, etc.).

3: Find ways your business can generate income if you can not work- (personal or accidents can happen & what do you if you can’t work).

4: Can you teach your craft to others or online?

5: Always keep your clients in the know with policies- cleaning- cancellations, etc. (the health & safety along with communication is most important).
