Check Out Aracely Vergara’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aracely Vergara.

Hi Aracely, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Established in June of 2014, it was always a vision of mine to own a family-friendly ice cream parlor. Coming from a family of ice cream lovers, we grew up at Farrell’s, the popular ice cream parlor during the 70’s and 80’s. After my career took an unexpected turn in 2013, I decided this was the right time to do what I always wanted to do which was to own my own ice cream shop. Once I started looking further into it, I thought why not kick it up a notch introducing a health-friendly yet delicious product. Having traveled to the East Coast & Midwest on a few occasions, I had the opportunity of trying frozen custard and Italian ice (which I absolutely love!) After much research, we now serve 12 Italian ice flavors free of GMO’s, artificial ingredients and lactose. Plus, 12 frozen custard flavors which are all made in-house on a daily basis. Living in the high desert where we experience high and low temperatures, we realized we needed to offer warm options as well. We decided to incorporate the ingredients from our chocolate frozen custard into a hot chocolate drink which is now known as our Hot Chocolate Custard. Since then, our menu has expanded extensively to now including crepes, waffles and cotton candy items. In addition, we have a library-style wall with a Willy Wonka ladder for our candy section which includes but is not limited to old-fashioned wax bottles, jawbreakers, etc. Most recently added, we have partnered RefiSnacks TM which can also now be found on the candy wall.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Ha! I’d be lying if I said it was, but my sister, Patricia, has been my rock through all tough times. She has been a positive & motivating voice since day 1. We like to keep our focus on the growth and loyal customers we have gained throughout the years. Winters tend to be tough, but we persevere by exercising our creativity.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We specialize in making sure that we have a great tasting product which we are proud to make on a daily basis. We are known for our amazing frozen custard, Italian ice, and fun desserts. What sets us apart from others is our top quality & unique desserts all created for each individual customer. That is what I’m proud of.

We hope we were able to give Voyage LA readers a tiny glimpse of what we offer in hopes of expanding our customer base into the Los Angeles area.
