Hi Anna & Camille, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Our names are Anna & Camille Flores, we are sisters and mothers that have been working in the service industry combined for more than 16 years while working towards our dream careers in the healthcare field. In 2018, we made a decision to get a condo together with our daughters and grew an obsession for always feeling the need to make our place look aesthetically pleasing with cute decor. When the pandemic hit in 2020, we spent a lot of time cooking at home but also struggled to find places that were covid friendly. While still trying to support small businesses and local restaurants. Because of that, we found ourselves more than ever grabbing lunch and going to outdoor places to have picnics with our girls. We then came up with the idea of launching The Ultimate Picnic Company. When the pandemic came, we realized more than ever that the constant change in our world came with daily demands for quick decisions and automatic responses. It became so important for us to stop and enjoy the little things with the people that mean the most. We started this business in hopes of bringing people together and creating moments that would last a lifetime in a period of much uncertainty. We hope to continue to create simple traditions around a picnic table, where slowing down and appreciating the things in front of you is just what you needed. Planning a celebration or an event, whether it’s a fun birthday brunch with friends and family or a romantic date night out, isn’t always easy to do alone. We love to create the perfect ambiance for you and your loved ones to enjoy. We help execute an amazing experience for people who like hosting but don’t have the time or expertise to hash out all the little specifics. With our combination of creativity and attention to detail, we can help put together the ultimate luxurious picnic experience for you and your guests!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When we started this company, we knew it was going to be a lot of work but what we didn’t realize is the many different hats we have to wear in order to have a successful business. Being your own boss is great, but we both have to a photographer, social media marketing strategists, accountants, planners, and the list goes on. Besides all those things, it is also a very physically exhausting job. We have lugged all types of heavy furniture, rugs, and fragile decor across all different types of terrains. In order to get to specific locations, we’ve even had to climb through several flights of stairs and steep walkways to reach our destination. While we have faced many different obstacles, we understand and still strive to be constant learners in our business. We are learning and growing everyday and find inspiration in other small businesses to continue and build our legacy.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We specialize in luxurious picnics. We’ve customized all different types to tea parties, proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, friendsgiving gatherings, baby showers, bridal showers, to even a memorial of life celebration. We create your own piece of luxury in your favorite setting. We provide the ultimate picnic experience for you with blankets and pillows to keep you warm, games and a bluetooth speaker for entertainment, water and non-alcoholic beverages to quench your thirst, a lounge area with teepee for comfort, a picnic table with settings for you to enjoy your own food, and lots of luxurious touches to make you feel like you are relaxing in your own private oasis. We definitely think what sets us apart from most picnic companies is being the first to offer a private chef experience all while being able to enjoy your picnic with your guests. We are always finding ways to enhance our picnics with different experiences that will help create only the best memories.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness is defined in so many different ways for us. We absolutely love going shopping together to find new and unique pieces to incorporate in our picnics to go along with our different themes. Although starting this business was another stream of income, witnessing the genuine reactions from our guests gives us comfort in knowing our company brings joy to others to create a memorable time. When someone chooses us to help celebrate all the small and big moments in their life, it means the world to us. The constant support and countless referrals from others is the biggest compliment we can receive as a small, women-owned business.
