Check Out Adrian Ortega’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Ortega.

Adrian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up my aunt did hair, and when I was little I was always was so fascinated with all the services they were doing. Growing up I would sit my little sister down and use all my mom’s hot tools and I would straighten, curl, and do all kinds of styles on her. I got good at braiding hair and would braid girl’s hair in high school, they would even come up to me during lunch asking for me to braid their hair. I remember one time in class the teacher was threatening to send me to the office because I would be playing with girl’s hair in class lol! I was going to college for business and I just felt unmotivated and was just kind of going with the flow. I always wanted to do hair but never thought I could make a career out of it so I told myself go to cosmetology school see how you like it and if it’s not for you just go back to College. After the first couple of weeks of cosmetology school, I instantly knew that this was meant for me. After I graduated cosmetology school I assisted for a year and finally felt comfortable enough to be on my own and that’s where I’m at today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it has been pretty smooth the only struggle that I had was Covid. I stopped working in the salon for about six months due to the shutdown and at the six months mark, I started to feel my passion drifting away and knew I need to get back in the salon and surround myself with all things hair.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a hairstylist in the city of Covina. I specialize in balayage, haircuts, blondes, all-over colors, and keratin treatments! I would say a most known for my balayages and haircuts! I do more dimensional balayage and for haircuts long flippy layers! I’ve always loved how Victoria’s Secret model’s hair would be during the fashion shows. So I always give them an awesome blowout to complement the color and cut. I would say I’m most proud of is my growth as a hairstylist. I really try to be my best at what I do and love to share my knowledge with my colleagues and others, also encourage and hype up One another so we could all be the best version of ourselves. I would say what sets me apart from others is I’m honest, personable, and hard-working. I’m very honest and upfront with my clients and will tell them if the goal that they’re trying to meet is obtainable with keeping their hair Health in mind. I always tell them I’d rather have your hair feel healthy than dry and broken.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
