Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Dadula.
Michael, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I came to LA with plans to go to art school as an illustrationist, and I actually got in. Life took a turn and I decided not attending. Took a couple years off and found that photography was my real passion and later ended up getting my degree in it from CSULB. Ever since then, I’ve been freelancing and chasing this dream.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Sometimes, I get either intimidated or hesitant when telling people I am a photographer. Being able to make a living off something I would do otherwise for free is such a blessing. When it comes to personal work I try to be as experimental as possible, even if the work doesn’t see the light of day.
The world is free for us to experiment with, why create the same images for popularity? When it comes to couples and client work, my main intent is to create work that truly lasts a lifetime. I don’t only want them to look back and enjoy the images, but I want them to be transported to that exact moment and have the chance to re-live that moment.
How can artists connect with other artists?
I hate the word “network” it just has this connotation that you are meeting people with the intent of making nothing more than a business relationship with them. But genuinely talking to people and getting to know them is so helpful. You really don’t know who you could end the meeting.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My portfolio can be seen on my website.
