Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Angelo Brown.
Michael Angelo, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was on my 3rd deployment to Afghanistan when I bought my first camera. I wanted to tell stories that the mainstream media couldn’t. After that deployment, I was done with that lifestyle and went to Salt Lake City to start college at the Art Institute. After a year of attending, the school decided to close that campus down. Upon hearing the news, I packed two bags and left for Los Angeles. Finished up college and became a freelance photographer.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I love shooting editorials based off of what emotion I’m feeling. I want people to see my images and create a story in their mind. Everyone is different so the experience varies for everyone depending on past experiences.
The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
Don’t get into the game if you’re trying to make money. Remember quality over quantity.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My work can be seen on my website, Instagram, or Behance.
