Check Out Kristin Rossi’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Rossi.

Hi Kristin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
So let’s go back 29 years to 1992. I was 19 years old and had a little red convertible that my father bought me for my sweet 16th birthday. I was able to sell that car to open up what was the first of many salon/spa businesses. I became a licensed manicurist in Michigan in 1992, and expanded my first salon into the education realm, and opened up a school for nails shortly after. A couple of years after that, I was able to sell my salon to one of my former students and move to Florida, where I opened two more salon/spa businesses on the beach. After many years of both failures and successes, I found myself in Denver, Colorado where I launched the Nails By KR brand in 2016 which has evolved over the last five years into what is now an international business which can reach clients from every corner of the globe.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been smooth road? Is it ever? Struggles along the way are what make us who we are, perhaps a better version of our younger more naive selves. I’ve always welcomed obstacles and challenges because they force us to look outside of the box. Most of the time, the answers aren’t always in front of us, but that sets the imagination in motion to seek out new and undiscovered methods to take us to our new triumphs. Six years ago, I was in a terrible car accident that left me with almost complete memory loss, vision and hearing loss, a speech impediment, loss of balance, internal bleeding, and I was six weeks pregnant. Have you ever heard hard work, determination and staying the course can get you everywhere? Well, I’m living proof it does, and because of it, I not only took my recovery to the next level but also my career.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an international nail artist specializing in international fashion shows, editorial photo shoots and a high-profile clientele. I am the proud owner and creator of the Nails By KR brand which caters to one on one appointments, press on nails that ship globally, and my newest endeavor, the Body By KR line. What sets me apart from others? That’s a tough question. I’ve certainly had time to rethink the answer to this question over the years and I’ve never answered it the same. Simply because I am constantly evolving, rebranding, and leveling up. I am in competition with myself and myself alone and have extremely high expectations of myself and what I want to accomplish. I am constantly striving for that level of excellence that is only known to me.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
So imagine this. Someone you admire sets aside time for you. Someone who you share the same interests and how to accomplish goals. Someone that cheers you on and gives you feedback and advice. The right mentoring relationship can be a very powerful tool for your professional growth. The more specific you are with what you want to accomplish, the easier it will be to find the right mentor. Envision your dreams and this will allow you to break down your ideas into tangible goals, and from there the sky is the limit. Your only limitation is yourself!
