Check Out Kristian Avalos’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristian Avalos.

Hi Kristian, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started dipping into makeup when I was around 13 secretly, I would just go in the bathroom for as long as I could. I was always attracted to the bright bold colors, I remember putting on this blue & purple eyeshadow color combo & I was in love but wasn’t sure how to express it. I’d have to take it off as soon as possible. Fast forward to around 2017, I met my boyfriend who had been doing makeup by chance at the time & he pushed me & inspired me to start my own makeup page, which is the best decision I’ve ever made. At the moment, I’m 20 years old as of recently I’ve been posting almost daily. This past Halloween 2020, I did “31 days of Halloween” which was tough but I managed to pull through and since then, I’ve kept going with almost a daily/every other day posting schedule! Creating new color combos and looks is what I love.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a rocky road especially when trying to figure out my own style that will differentiate myself from the many other talented artists there is. Trying to find the right lighting, seeing what will give me the best quality photos or videos, also trying to keep it new and different & fresh for every single post. Just being in such a huge makeup community can be tough & sometimes intimidating because there’s so many people. But at the end of the day, I love creating looks & the transformation makeup can do, it makes me feel confident like never before & that’s all I’ve ever wanted.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in glam/ dramatic makeup, but I don’t like to put myself in a box, I love to do it ALL!! From creative, avant-garde to natural & soft glam, & SFX is my next goal! I’m most proud of recently being able to work with Plouise academy & LA girl cosmetics. I never in a million years would think I would work with brands, let alone such amazing brands like these two to name just a couple. I feel like I would be known for/ a staple of mine is blowing out my eyeshadow to my temples and blush it’s my favorite thing to do!

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
At the moment, what matters to me most is trying to follow my dreams, trying to get somewhere in life where I will be proud of myself & make others proud & happy. The goal is to be able to do makeup & to let others know they are beautiful no matter what.
