Check Out Kitty Antix’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kitty Antix.

Hi Kitty, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I knew I wanted to be a singer and a songwriter at the age of four. I was a weird child and always thought that the world was my stage. Dressing up in costumes, singing, dancing, and acting was the most freeing activity! I knew I had to do this for the rest of my life. I started songwriting at the age of eight years old.

Britney Spears, Destiny’s Child, Céline Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera were huge inspirations to me in the 90s. I started out writing poems but then realize that writing lyrics and expressing myself was very liberating. I also have a twin sister and we wrote songs and sang at a very young age together. At 14, I self-taught myself the electric and acoustic guitar. I didn’t have any money at that age so my mom and I made a deal that if I did well in school and got a 4.0 GPA, I could get an electric guitar. At 20, I started music producing and arranging instruments. I also had a passion for acting and dancing so I went to Cal State Fullerton University To pursue my musical theater career. I produce and execute the audio and visuals for all of my projects from beginning to end. I also love editing videos so if you visit my YouTube channel, all of those videos you see are edited by me. I began performing as a teenager and going to lots of open mics. Acting in school plays and musicals was a must. I have been asked to privately auditioned for American Idol, The Voice, America’s Got Talent. It’s been a crazy journey but I realized my love for music has elevated to making music for sync as well.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was definitely not a smooth road. I had many rejections, failures, awkward situations on stage, and technical difficulties while performing. Also being an artist is very financially inconsistent. So I have had 4 to 6 jobs every year. I am grateful that all of these jobs fit well into my schedule. I was able to make music while working those jobs. I don’t get much sleep but it’s worth it because I love doing what I do.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer, songwriter, guitars, music producer, Actress, and Dancer. I have a lot of specialties, Ha ha ha. As you can see, I am more than a triple threat. I am known for my extravagant Cosplays. I am known for entertaining my love for music and Cosplay together. For instance, I am very proud of my song, Pennywise. I got to be very creative with the song and intertwined creepy and dark lyrics. On top of making lyrics, I had a lot of fun creating the beat and making it sound eerie. Furthermore, I wanted to create a music video that consists of a female version of Pennywise, the dancing clown. This song and music video got so popular on TikTok that I gained 50,000 followers within two months on TikTok. I love all my fans and they surely love Pennywise, the female version. What sets me apart from other artists is that I endlessly create everything from music, lyrics, beats, costume, make-up, visual effects, and directing my own music videos.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is not giving up, not caring what other people say or think about me and my craft. I must remember that if I got to perform or create music in anyway, that I should be grateful because I got to do what I love.
