Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Denae.
Kayla, , we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My mom was super into scrapbooking as I grew up. There was always a camera out wherever we went. As I grew up, I started to see beauty in the details. I began to study photography and began to start working with clients. I learned that I absolutely love capturing sweet moments that happen between couples. Not only that, but I also love learning their individual stories and helping show it through photos.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I love taking photographs that capture moments, emotions, and relationships that are shared between couples. My stylistic priority is to be timeless, so that when couples are showing their kids and grandkids their photos from when they were young, the photos aren’t completely outdated. I love capturing sweet laughter and smiles shared between couples and creating moments that make them feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
I think cities can encourage and help artists to thrive by encouraging or creating spaces for community between artists, places where we can go and be inspired together and support each other.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
The best way to stay up to date with my work is through my Instagram.
You can support my work by keeping me in mind when a friend or family member is getting engaged or married and looking for a photographer! 🙂
