Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Scoles.
Jamie, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am the founder and owner of Designbby Studio. Designbby is one of the top most popular online design blogs and also a creative studio. The studio started as a blog that I created to store my personal design inspiration and it quickly gained popularity, gaining nearly a thousand followers a month, so I decided to keep the blog going. I didn’t see Designbby having a future being just a blog, so I wanted to create something out of it by expanding it into a business. Being a designer myself and with all of my friends being some of the most talented creatives I know, I decided to make Designbby into a creative studio.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Designbby Studio offers services in design, direction, motion graphics, animation, photography, videography, aerial photography and videography and music production. We have worked with real estate groups and brands to record labels and celebrities. Our studio is inspired by minimal and contemporary art and we find inspiration from the things around us, such as patterns found on walls or signs in subway stations.
Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
I believe that our cities should create spaces and events where artists can freely express themselves. For example, have art events where artists can just come and set up a table and put their work out or have a wall where anyone can just come and paint on it anytime. Nowadays, the only way artists are able to show their work is by paying for a space at an event or posting it online. Designbby has a section on our website that allows all artists to submit their work to be featured on our blog. Any avenue of art, as much work as you want to submit to be featured, any time.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Our work can be found on our website at www.designbby.com. We are always collaborating, announcing and releasing new cool projects and updates with the studio, so follow us on Instagram and Facebook and stay up to date on what we are doing next!
