Check Out FIG’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to FIG.

Hi FIG, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started getting interested in writing my own music when I lived in Singapore for Highschool. I was really into the Lofi Music genre and I would write small lyrics to beat instrumentals.

I later moved to NYC for College and would continue doing it and started meeting people to write and music with. As I kept on going, I fell in love with the Indie pop and Indie Alternative genre which made me want to make this type of music too.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely been a really fun road where I have been to experience and meet so many new people. Some struggle was definitely finding a sound or discovering my identity as an artist. I have also learned the importance of staying true to yourself (no matter how corny that sounds :p ).

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create indie pop and indie alternative music. What I always hope for when creating music is to comfort people, where this can be letting people feel comfortable to dance and scream in their car or providing comfort for them through the medium of music.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am always down to collaborate with people! Feel free to contact me through any of my socials.
