Check Out Eva Constance’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eva Constance.

Hi Eva, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My grandmother added me to the choir program at her church when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I actually did not like choir practice when I was younger. I wanted to stay with the grown-ups, but by age 12 I fell in love with music and started writing my own music. I recorded various types of tracks over the years, which I don’t really have proof of anymore but I started to record music professionally in 2020, releasing my first single, “Selfish” which now has over 500,000 streams and growing. I also released the music video with over 22,000 growing views.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I was bullied from elementary through middle school and it was not easy. I was a very reserved and shy person most of the time. I had a few friends but over the years, my circle got very small. I participated in plays in high school and attended The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts as a dual enrollment student. There I was able to be myself more than at my regular school, which was The Journalism and Media Academy. Students were more accepting of my outgoing personality when it came to the Arts. Between that and music itself, It helped me to get through my years with bullying. There was a time when I didn’t want to deal with it anymore in middle school and almost ended it. Mental illness is real and I have been through and still deal with it at times because sometimes I sink into what others say. I try to keep going and ignore it the best way I can and so far, I am dealing with it well. It was not always that way though. The best thing you can do is be around people who care for you and support what you do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Musical artist. I am best known for my debut single “Selfish”. I released this single back in late 2020 and it has over 500,000 streams and growing. I am so proud of this single and I am glad a lot of others love it just as much as I do. I have a new single I released called “Tangler” as well and it’s starting to grow with fans also. I feel like something that sets me apart from others is my genuine chill attitude, vibe, and versatility. I can be very simple at times and very over the top the next. I like to change things up because I get really bored of things that stay the same. For example, a routine. I have to change my routines up because I get tired and unmotivated with it because it’s exactly the same.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson that I have learned along my journey is to constantly learn and grow. I was at a time in my life when I thought I knew a lot of things about the music industry and music in general but that was not the case. I had to step back, re-evaluate myself, and learn what I did not know about it. I am so glad I did that because it made understanding and dealing with the industry a lot easier for me. This industry is not just about pretty faces. It involves real hard work on all levels such as pre-production, post-production, vocals, harmonies, arrangement, photo sets, etc.
