Check out Danielle Nicole Cox’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Nicole Cox.

Danielle Nicole, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Almost no one is unique anymore because the word normal has practically gone extinct. There are rarely any normal walks of life, normal family structures, normal people. What is normal anyway. Each and every single one of us is unique now. I am definitely not the exception nor do I think that I am special because I am like many of the other people out there with blended lives. I was born into a family that doesn’t fit the cookie cutter stereotype but nonetheless, they are mine and I am loved. Not only have I been loved, but my family has been accepting, open and compassionate with each and every turn life has thrown at us. And I believe that is what has prepared me for my career and my life ahead.

I personally have tried the Monday-Friday 9-5, the late nights, weekends and holidays, and the full-time student. None of those paths gave me what it was I was looking for. I never felt like I belonged. And I feel as though I can speak on the behalf of so many other young individuals around my age and during this time, who believe to be creatively fueled. I was born and raised in Orange County, CA and always felt like I was being pulled back and forth from LA to OC. Being torn between the lifestyle of an LA creative to OC suburbia. I knew I wouldn’t be fulfilled working a job that just got me by and paid the bills. I needed more. I craved more. And I found it. I picked up a camera four years ago and I have yet to put it down. I have changed, grown and uprooted my entire life based off of the happiness my career has given me and I don’t regret it for a second. I love having the ability to be in a new office every day. New faces, new looks, new stories, new locations, and new images. Each image never being the same as the one before. I have been traveling across the United States to photograph people and the important moments in their lives as well as beginning my journey with international adventures. I can never look back and wish or hope I did something different because then how could I move forward. I am blessed to be who I am and where I am from and where I’m determined to go.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Where to begin. I could start from the beginning of what brought me here, I could talk about where I dream to go and who I dream to be. But what I want to truly talk about is who I am today. Who I am today is stronger because of the life I walked through. Who I am today is motivated because of where I want to go in life. My identity has found itself within my growing career in photographing some of life’s most inspiring moments. Picking up a camera, looking through the lens and envisioning the images I’m creating before I even capture it, is an indescribable feeling. The memories I create either on screen or printed in albums will not only bring a temporary feeling of happiness but lifelong moments of people reminiscing on that day that brought so much joy. Even when time passes, and age progresses and minds fade. What I get to create will last an absolute lifetime and I did that. I got to give them that gift. And to see my creations on families walls, to know my pictures fill albums on coffee tables, gives me a selfish amount of pride to offer that to those around me. It’s hard to admit to what my favorite times in life are to capture because each client each story each moment is so beautifully unique that my days are never the same.

From witnessing twin boys being born, breached within their mother, and brought earthside in her home, surrounded by those who support and bring nothing but love and peace. To the day he finally got to watch the woman of his dreams walk down that aisle and begin the first day of the rest of their lives together with just a few simple words. To the echoing sound of giggles and chuckles and belly laughs from tiny tots running around and engaging in tickle fights. I am truly blessed to have found a job that surrounds me with so much positivity and pure unfiltered moments. My story isn’t new, my story hasn’t finished, every day my story is being written and I hope to capture it with images to say so much more than I could possibly put into words. I wouldn’t trade this life for the world.

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
My advice based off of my personal experience is, to not ever let anyone hold you back. When you have felt that burn inside that makes you question the steps you’re taking on the daily, that feeling that gives you a sense that you aren’t where you should be. Go. With. It. Do not change your dreams to appease another. Do not question your power to grow or to learn or to create because someone doesn’t understand your passion. If you are putting yourself out there creatively, good things will come along as long as you are being fueled by what makes it worth waking up every single day. Accept the struggle with success. And love every minute of it. Do not be afraid to push yourself past what you ever thought you’d be capable of. For your own potential isn’t limited to even what you can dream up. You’d be surprised when you finally let go of the voices that have stood in the way, what you are able to conquer.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Because of today’s social media resources, you can most definitely find my Instagram page @daniellenicolespage and also check out my website at But the most important tool is when my clients and the people who love my work spread the word by mouth. By letting their friends and their family members and anyone who could use a photographer really, know where they can find me. I end up making lifelong friendships and clients and follow them through the many milestones they go through in life and help capture each and every moment.
