Check out Cardona’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cardona.

Cardona, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
As a kid I was always interested in music and learning all about it. I became a drummer and played for many years. I came back to it as an adult only this time as a singer. I had a chance to meet Randy Jackson at an event and he suggested that I see a vocal coach just on the sound of my speaking voice. I was able to train with two of the top coaches in the country. Ron Anderson in LA and Katie Agresta in NYC. Both have a long list of top singers that they have trained. I have written and produced all my songs, got my songs to many djs and are being played in bars and clubs. I was performing all over downtown NYC scene before I moved to Hollywood. Now it’s time for CA to hear me!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Not only did I train my voice but I have written and produced all my songs. 24 tracks to date. Also, my videos playing on YouTube. 9 videos to date. It’s been a such a fun project and learning experience. Creating all this has been eye opening and discovering something in me that I didn’t know I had but always wanted to try. I do have to say that my music is not your typical songs. I wanted to create songs that provoke thoughts and make you think about good times, bad times and the world around you and inside you.

The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
There is definitely a financial challenge as an artist. I have been lucky enough to have a nice paying daytime job and I’m not someone that spends money on stuff I don’t need. So, I had some finances to put towards my project and it’s been worth every penny.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My videos can be seen on YouTube and my songs are playing on music outlets like Soundcloud and Reverbnation. You can get my songs on iTunes and Amazon. I’m on Facebook at CARDONA (all caps) and Instagram at Cardonahollywood. I am looking to start performing in the LA scene so be on the lookout for my next show.
