Check Out Brett Schaberg’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Schaberg.

Hi Brett, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After completing my second year of college (although first year in the Acting Program) at Western Michigan University, I felt ready to make the trip to LA. My oldest brother had made Monrovia, CA his home for ten years, and my twin brother, Reece, had been living in and around LA for about a year by the time I moved in August of 2017. Fortunately, in the year prior my twin had done some of the “heavy-lifting” to get an agent, who welcomed me aboard as well.

Within a few months, my brother and I booked our first national commercial, and by the time pilot season came around I was somewhat overwhelmed with how many auditions came my way, considering how little I’d worked at that point. Although no bookings came that pilot season, it was a great start to my journey here; by the summer, me and my brother were flown to NYC for a callback (mind-blowing) and that July, just a month before my one-year anniversary of moving to LA, I booked a co-star on “The Rookie” on ABC. Since then, I’ve had my ups and downs as any actor does, but I have been incredibly blessed with amazing on and off set experiences, from great acting classes at The Actor’s Collective LA (nice little plug there haha), to strong friendships formed among other very talented, aspiring artists.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
For the most part, I’d say yes. Would it have been great to book some of the projects I’ve been up for? Absolutely. That’s all part of it though. I have no doubt that what’s mine will be mine, and I try not to worry about the stuff others were chosen for.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’d imagine it’s clear at this point, but I am an actor! I do my best to bring characters to life, tell truthful stories, and make great work for others to enjoy.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I would guess everyone says this, but I’m not sure. I’d like to think I’m open about who I am, what drives me, and the kind of life I choose to lead.
