Check out Brasko

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brasko.

Brasko, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Well, I’m from Akron, Ohio. I moved to Nashville, Tennessee directly after Highschool to hone in the craft of songwriting. So I started off writing for other people. Eventually, I had a bucket of quirky songs that really excited me but they we’re pretty aggressively over the top, so I didn’t know who would be right to sing them. A friend invited me to see Cabaret the musical and I was so inspired by the character Emcee. I decided to play the theatrical caricatured version of me on stage essentially and cut the songs myself. I gathered a little fan base of people who were just as hungry as me for something of the flavor then moved out west coast to pursue/push it sonically further.

We’d love to hear more about your music. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I know it’s not up to me how I’m perceived, so I try not to think about it too much. I think people should wear what they want to wear, be who they want to be, and love who they want to love. I believe there’s a small part of all of us that’s connected, so if I’m true to myself, it’ll light a spark in others. But to answer your question, my message will change, but I write best in pursuing topics. My original message was intimacy, then I took it a little further down the rabbit hole and now I’m interested in the darker parts of humanity and how, when humans feel ignored, abandoned, and stepped on, they act accordingly aggressive. This has been the consistent writing umbrella of my most recent batch of songs.

The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
None. I go negative every month. If anyone has any advice for me, please send them my way HAHA.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
It’s on every platform. I just released an album called SEXDREAMSUPERSTAR. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m not going to make much money off streams, so listen and if it intrigues you come to a show.
