Check Out Alexandra Klemovich’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Klemovich.

Hi Alexandra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I always was the type to be looking for something to make, sell, or promote new hot things on the market. I find myself working hard at my small projects if that was photo, video or tie dye. I told myself I need to just pick one and run with it! So thats what I did… When I was little, my friends and I took to my driveway (against my parent’s liking) to tie-dye pretty much anything we could get our little hands on. While my friends slowly abandoned our colorful projects to pursue other hobbies (yea know, normal ones, like playground play or riding razor scooters around town), I continued to tie-dye…A LOT Later, I studied photography at Kansas State University and absolutely loved it, but I always found myself, even as a grown a$$ adult, wanting to tie-dye whenever I had the chance. After moving from Kansas to Los Angeles a few years ago, I set aside time to tie-dye just for fun – just for me.

Then, Klem Tie Dye freakin’ took off faster than you can say Jack Robinson. I enjoy making tie dye for everyone and making it light up their wardrobe. I always had a closet full of sweatpants, hoodies, crewnecks and said to myself… I need to make my own clothing line, that would be all tie dye, sweats, and hoodies! I am always learning how to make Klem Tie dye pop off even more and more everyday! I went from tie-dyeing for myself to close friends to the freakin’ greater Los Angeles area, and now I get orders from around the world. I want to keep growing and getting my brand out there!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The struggle is real… but it comes with the good too. I Always had a dad aka “Ron the man” that always supported me and helped me start any small business I wanted. I am very grateful for that. I think the main struggle would be always trying to make your clothing line seen by everyone and support you. You put so much thought and money towards something and sometimes the weeks are really really good! Then some weeks the money is not coming at all… and it’s a cycle that you just need to ride with and not worry too much. I’ve learned that there will be some off weeks and some weeks that are off the charts! So patience is key. I always also have bomb friends that legit buy so much tie dye… wear it and always helping me spread the word of Klem Tie Dye.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve always been so creative and working on fun art projects. During college, I was taking photos, doing documentary photography. I still would love to make a photo/video documentary-style piece at some point in my life! I don’t think being creative will ever leave my body! I think my main focus is Klem Tie dye and making sure I grow and see where it goes in the next few years! When days are rough I ask myself… are you ready to walk away from Klem tie dye?… and right away each time to myself, I say hell no! So again… of course some days are rough and I want to walk away but at the end of the day I want to see Klem Tie dye be in all retail stores… famous people wearing my clothing and the whole world knowing who and what Klem tie dye is! I think I’m just so proud of myself following my gut and going all in doing this line and making it into a comfy clothing line!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love my podcasts and music! I love listening to music while I tie dye in my garage! I go from listening to Rap, then to smooth jazz! It helps to the creative juices flowing!
