Check out Alana Sitara’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alana Sitara.

Alana, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My art comes from a place of trying to find who I am. Two years ago, I decided to buy a vlogging camera, in hopes of becoming the next YouTuber. That quickly failed as I found out I really didn’t favor videography at all. Soon after, my friends commented on my Instagram, and how I have an eye and should try photography. Working in the film industry, I also had many friends eager to get a picture for their portfolio (lol). Many practice shoots later, I found a love for portrait/fashion shoots, and I never want to stop. This hobby has opened so many doors for me and helped shape me into who I am today.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a portrait/fashion photographer. My art mainly focuses on movement, dimension, and emotion. I especially love capturing candid’s due to the fact that the emotion is in its most raw state at that point. My message in my art is that anyone can pursue it. It’s not the equipment, it is solely the eye and heart of the artist. Some of my best work comes from my little digital camera. My love for travel also ties in with this. Being on the go, a smaller camera is usually what I have to work with. I want people to look at my art and be inspired to get out of the house and GO. Travel as much as you can, it’s one of the best ways to get inspired.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success is being happy with the art you produce. It took me YEARS to figure out my own style as a photographer, and now, I love having a picture where you look at it and say “That is definitely a SitaraVisuals photo”. Be happy with your work and be patient in the time it takes to get there! Practice is everything.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
You can check out my work on my website, Also, my Instagram That supports me quite a bit because most of my clients find me through there! I love the power social media has to bring creatives together.
