Art & Life with The Visionary Assassin

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Visionary Assassin.

The Visionary Assassin, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
My initial love for hip-hop started when I was young and blossomed intensely in high school. Social anxiety prevented me from reaching my full potential in my adolescence, and financial restraints prevented me from dropping my debut in my early twenties.

In 2018, everything changed when I released Unknown Native, my baby. Finally releasing this project into the world gave me the strength I needed to excel and see what paths music could open up. My next project is currently under development, and I have no plans of stopping anytime soon.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m a musician, and the keys in my opinion are lyrics and intent. I think about what I want to say, then how to creatively communicate my concepts.

My goal is to inspire critical thinking, in regards to the lyrics and instrumentation behind the music. The music I create supersedes all things in my life, it’s the most tangible element, it’s raw and unfiltered, the way art is supposed to be.

In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
The biggest challenge facing artists today is the oversaturation of the market. Hip hop music has almost become a trend, and oftentimes I’ve noticed that a lack of respect is permeating the culture. Our job as artist is to cut through the fat.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My music is available for streaming on every major platform. Sharing and playing my music helps significantly. Share it with friends, family, colleagues, or even strangers.
