Today we’d like to introduce you to Rigoberto Pinto Jr.
Rigoberto, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’ve been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil and fell in love with animation, after watching the Lion King in theatres! I went to Pasadena City College to build my art skills during that time I also worked in radio. After 4 years I applied to ArtCenter College of Design and got my BA in Illustration Entertainment Arts
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am currently working at Zya music designing characters and coming up with concepts for the app. My passion has always been designing characters and animation. As a child, when I first saw the lion king I realized that what I was watching was paper move on screen and the emotions I felt made me want to do that for the rest of my life. With my illustrations I hope I can bring a moment of enjoyment to whoever may be viewing my work. I am doing my best to design characters who are Latinos and illustration to represent us, I hope with this it allows the younger generation to be proud to be Latino.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
My advice would be to listen to others and not be afraid to fail! I’m dyslexic and I have failed many times but being able to achieve your goals makes it all worth it. I am a big believer that everything happens when it needs to be never give up on yourself!
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
