Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Woods.
Linda, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I grew up in a family of writers and writing books is pretty much the family business! But I knew from an early age that I preferred to tell stories with art. So, I became an artist who then wrote books about self-expression.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I like to use art to tell the stories of everyday life. Each artwork is a story told in color, texture, and symbolism.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
I do not find it lonely at all! Connecting with other artists is great but connecting with other small business owners and entrepreneurs, especially if you work from home. is great. The issues you encounter as an artist are often the same as in other industries. Connecting with others in different industries or different styles and types of art is also really good for finding new opportunities. I am a firm believer in stretching your limits, so take classes, visit museums, get out into your community and see art- you will undoubtedly meet other artists doing those same things.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
