Today we’d like to introduce you to Breece Justice.
Breece, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Hi! My name is Breece Justice aka Breezy. An illustration is a tool for storytelling, I believe there are many beautiful stories in the world to be shared and as an illustrator, I feel like it is my responsibility to do that. I have a passion to illustrate scenes of uplifting playful designs! Adventure Time is MY JAM. At an early age, I began filling all of my sketchbooks up with drawings living in the smokey mountains near Asheville NC. Nature gave me much inspiration and creative juice to indulge in my quirky world at a young age. After graduating high school, I attended one year of college at East Tennessee State University studying printmaking. Within my first year of college, I was completing graduate-level classes in printmaking and independent studies. This was when I decided to take my creative career to the next level and apply to Savannah College of Art and Design.
I graduated in May 2019 with a BA in Visual Communication and concentration in illustration. I now am working as a Junior Graphic Designer at Ghost Ranch Communications. Brian Miller and the Brosmind Brothers are illustrators that constantly inspire me! When I am not designing and illustrating by desk light, you can find me snowboarding, running or hanging with my cute pup Tito.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
An illustration is a tool for storytelling, I believe there are many beautiful stories in the world to be shared and as an illustrator, I feel like it is my responsibility to do that. I have a passion to illustrate scenes of uplifting playful designs! Art is a way for me to communicate and connect with people from all sorts of backgrounds. If my illustration or design for someone makes them more confident in what they are doing or helps express them, then I am happy.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
OWN YOUR STYLE!! It’s cool and what makes you, you. I wouldn’t be an illustrator if I was not passionate about it. Being passionate about something makes it effortless to put in the hard work that every successful craft blossoms from.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
