Last week, I found myself sitting in my classic sports car in Compton, CA on a Friday evening with a flat tire … having spent 2 hours fighting traffic to travel 30 miles from my home in Toluca Lake … only to arrive at a bogus sales lead (one of many so far).  My current new job is going to people’s houses all over LA County, performing a “Free Water Test”, revealing that their Tap Water is gross (big surprise), then hard-selling an $8000 water treatment system, so I can put $1000 in my pocket.  I’m great with people and sales. Been on the job 3 weeks.  Made $2000 commission my first week. But hate the traffic, the monotony, and the grind of working for somebody else in this capacity.  It’s sucks the life out of you man.  It’s not my lifestyle.

Next morning, check my email, and find a follow-up correspondence from VoyageLA Magazine, looking to highlight me as a Health and Fitness Professional in the LA area. I couldn’t say YES fast enough, needing to get back to what I love.  Helping, Motivating, Inspiring, Teaching, and Coaching people to their full potential.

You see, working out, training hard, breaking through physical and mental barriers has always been a way of life for me since age 12.  I competed in Varsity Track and Cross-country growing up in Southern California during the late 70’s/early 80’s.  Team Captain.  Most Improved.  Most Reliable.  I carried that energy to college and learned “REAL” Bodybuilding at Gold’s Gym, Goleta during the “Golden Era” while attending UC Santa Barbara from 1982-1986 (B.A. Business-Economics).  Now almost age 52, I’m going on my 40th year serious weight-training having accumulated a lifetime of valuable knowledge in Exercise, Nutrition, Detoxification that needs to be shared with readers like you.  Won Mr. Natural America in 1995 (drug tested),  appeared on dozens of Magazine covers, and to this day still train as if my life depends on it. Totally natural. Totally unenhanced by any chemicals or supplements.  No PED’s. The result being a physique capable of still winning titles on the national level, and my skin and body looking like a 35 year old even though I’m in my 50’s.

Now, for the last 25 years I’ve worked from my Home Office in my unique “Sports Bar theme” Pad in Toluca Lake, CA creating and marketing Fitness-related Mail Order and Internet businesses. As an Economics major, I knew that hands-on “Personal Training” is 100% labor-intensive.  If you’re not in the gym training a client, you’re not making any money.  So instead, I taught myself Mail Order, Marketing, Video Editing, Graphic Design, Writing etc.  Basically using my creativity and a computer to make a living in a more efficient way.

With the Fitness & Nutrition knowledge I learned from training and competing all my life, and the Sales and Marketing knowledge I learned with my Business degree, in 1995 I created my own Fitness Video “MAXIMUM FITNESS” and accompanying “Handbook”  (still available for sale).  I marketed and sold this product Mail Order through “Men’s Workout”, “Exercise for Men Only”, “Men’s Exercise”, “Natural Bodybuilding & Health”, “Bodybuilding Monthly” where I appeared on all these Magazine Covers, then continued Monthly appearances as a “Columnist” in exchange for a “Free Full Page AD” each month in each publication.  A sweet deal considering full page ads ran $2000/month.  So, I wrote over 200 articles for these publications during a 10 year span.

In the early 2000’s when the internet became really popular I created several very cool “Live WebCam Membership Websites”.  I promoted these internet businesses heavily thru Magazines, Websites, and Email Lists.  Plus, Article/AD trade-outs like I’d done with my Fitness Video.

In 2010, my 3rd major venture was Sports Supplement Website “GetLean4Less”.  Carrying over 800 products from 72 manufacturers, products drop-shipped from a distributor in Northridge, CA. Recently, the distributor ceased to operate leaving me without any means to ship orders, leading to the closure of this website.

As a result, looking for a new source of income, I posted an AD on Craig’s list offering my “Personal Training Services” to the public.

All I got was bargain hunters and fools who think that a man with 40 years of lifetime experience in this field and sporting a physique to rival anybody of any age is interchangeable with some run-of-the-mill “Trainer” at a local chain gym who got his “Certification” after studying 2 weeks.

As a consequence, I did the stupid thing, got a job after 25 years of working for myself, and discovered real quick how easy it is for me to find work.  Dealing with people in any capacity .. sales, coaching, advising is a natural thing for me.   And saying “I quit” is not a problem either.  When I hear about degreed people having difficulty securing a job that is befitting their experience and education I wonder why.

Nevertheless, my real “calling” is Athletics, Peak Performance, Health and Wellness, Inspiration, Motivation, Coaching, Teaching, and HELPING PEOPLE.

The purpose of this article is to bring to light that there exist guys like myself who have expertise and experience beyond what you’d find anywhere else.  I’m available now, and you need me in your corner today!  Contact me by phone, email, text, Facebook.  Change your life immediately.  I’m available “In Person”, by “Phone” or “Online”. Can’t wait to hear from you all!
