“Guys who drink beer are the basic bitches of the guy world. They’re boring and bland… If a man makes whiskey his drink of choice, you know he’s got his head on straight.” – Elite Daily
We agree, so we put together a list of LA’s top Whisky Bars.
LA’s best whisky bar. It is exactly what you expect from a whisky bar – the type of place where you’d want to smoke a cigar even if you don’t smoke.
Address: 515 W 7th St, Los Angeles, CA 90014
This is the “exclusive bar in the back of a bar” that you’ve always wanted to get into. It’s in the backroom of Seven Grand and it’s a complete separate bar with only 18 seats. They serve the drinks only one of three ways: neat, Japanese highball, or Old Fashioned.
3. Thirsty Crow
Address: 2939 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026
It’s dark, it looks like a divebar, but you’ll find people dressed well and the bar is center stage – the way it should be. The whiskey selection is impressive, but the diversity of the crowd is even more impressive. There is no clear demographic – it’s truly a diverse mix of ages, races, professions, etc. Very few bars in LA have such a broad spectrum of patronage.
4. The Blind Donkey
Address: 53 E Union St, Pasadena, CA 91103
Not technically a whiskey bar, but known for a good selection of Whiskey drinks. Overall, a chill atmosphere with a formidable whiskey menu in Oldtown Pasadena
5. Ten Pound
Address: 225 N Canon Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210
This whiskey is at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills. It’s expensive, but classy. The water used in their ice is imported from Scotland. Some of their Macallan’s are aged as long as 64 years.
6. Sassafras Saloon
Address: 1233 N Vine St, Los Angeles, CA 90038
If you want a touch of the Hollywood scene, but not too much commotion, you can check out Sassafras. They have some excellent Whiskey drinks.
